Anyone else lose their SEO writing clients to AI recently?

It’s not uncommon for technology to disrupt industries and change the way things are done. AI-powered content writing is becoming increasingly popular with all the news around ChatGPT, (it has been around for a long time already) and it’s possible that they could replace some aspects of traditional SEO writing and content creation.

This is what I’m telling my accounts. While it’s possible for AI tools to generate large amounts of content quickly, it’s important to note that quality and accuracy are still key factors in creating effective content. AI-generated content may not always be able to capture the nuances of a brand’s voice and tone or provide the same level of expertise as a human writer. There is also fact-checking tools and how ChatGPT says it’s knowledge is outdated as of 2021. It tells you that when you sign up.

Overall, it’s likely that AI-powered content writing will continue to have an impact on the SEO industry, but there will always be a need for human creativity and expertise in content creation.

You can easily detect the presence of AI written content so I imagine that Google will give more points to authentic human content over content written by robots

I use chat gpt all the time. People using it to write content can rank on Google if they know SEO and make the necessary edits. Still those sites have a chance at getting completely wiped out by the next algorithm update. I’m not taking that chance.

Reach out to their competitors, let them know that their competitors have turned to AI and that their content will be sub-par going forwards and that you’re confident of doing better. Use cases and examples of generic AI content is easy to produce.

I’ve seen it more and more in our industry that some of our competitors have almost identical content on some things.

What a real shame that is. With the amount of regurgitated junk info I get when I do a search for info I need. Just every website telling me something I already know. The future isn’t as scary as it is repetitive if not complete useless.

I’ve been using AI in my SEO writing for a couple years. The AI doesn’t do great writing, but if you’re a good writer it makes you a faster writer. Because AI is predictive text, the point of what you’re writing is usually pretty middle of the road, though the structure can be really good. AI still takes a writer/editor to make it good SEO writing, and to add the voice and expertise of the brand. Clients can understand that.

Google may brings core algorithm update to detect AI generated content. So, the launcing time may work for clients, then they may reach you for humanized content creation.

Here are my 2 cents: While there will be a short term disruption, I would not really worry. Yes there will be tons of content created by Ai now, but that was the case before the hype arround chatGPT and the new Bing. But clients how take this content and publish it, will have most likely not the results they expect.

As a content writer as well as a SEOs we have to use this new tools to get the best results for our clients. AI is a very powerful tool, but like with most tools, if it is not used with the understanding needed, it will be rather useless.

So clients will still need your expertise and AI will help you to deliver better results in shorter time – if used corectly.
