Zapier’s FB Conversion API – Here’s what I’m seeing
Overall The conversion api setup through zapier was easy to get set up for clients who need help with tracking leads fast. Essentially I paired the send Facebook lead zap with hubspots form zap (or any lead based app you use) to send events via the conversion API.
There is some limitations when compared to the standard conversion api setup. First off you aren’t tracking page views here so as you can imagine this doesn’t solve the audience shrinking issue.
When setting up on zapier I was able to put in a conversion ID to indicate deduping events. This was helpful as I choose the custom conversion I built using the pixel. My intention was to have this conversion api event send to the conversion ID – however….
This leaves a big question that I haven’t answered yet. Does the lead event record as my custom conversion or is it registering as its own lead conversion? If so how can I measure this as part of my custom conversion (custom conversion contains multiple lead form thank you pages)
