Is learning seo worth it in 2021?

I assume you mean as a career?
There are people who will tell you that SEO is getting harder, not only due to more, better competition, but also because more and more real estate seems to be being devoted to paid search and other google features every day. Those people would tell you learning PPC will lead to more career prospects.
On one hand, I agree that right now, your chance at landing an entry-level job as a PPC specialist is probably much easier than SEO. However, Google is doing everything they can to push out the human element from paid search. They want it all automated as much as possible, where the advertiser only has to set the budget.
Long term, the demand for talented SEOs will only go up as the competition gets harder, not down, so SEO is the much better long term career prospect,, in my opinion.
