Hi everyone, I was wondering what your thoughts are on the future of #SEO. Do you think it will continue to be a relevant and important part of #digitalmarketing, or do you think it will be replaced by other technologies and strategies? I’d love to hear your opinions and insights on this

It’ll never die – just continue to evolve like it has been doing since it became a thing. New technologies will just become the strategies and tactics that it evolves with.

As long as there’s competition on the internet and new content is created, SEO will exist.

All SEO is, is ensuring you create high-quality, comprehensive content in the structure that Google appreciates and knowing how to make sure it indexes.

As long as there is something to search for, SEO will not die.

    Depends what you mean?

Buying links to rank = mostly dead.

Content generation for spray and pray = mostly dead.

Trying to trick Google that you are an expert, or deserve authority, or trust = mostly dead.

(The above people who disagree just don’t know it yet / have not been in this industry long enough to see the amazing destruction of the above industries and methods).

Trying to rank in Google = permanent.

There is a better way than the above. No it’s not white hat. No it’s not buying ads.

It’s already dead, whenever I want to fix something, or find reviews about something before buying it, I already search with site:reddit.com because I know the results will be all trash optimized sites full of ads and referral links that will do everything in their power to make me click but won’t solve my issue.

As long as information retrieval is a thing, SEO will be a thing.

Short Answer : SEO will never die but it will definitely evolve over time. For example, a few years ago comment backlinks were quite important but now they’re nothing.

Individuals who’ll upgrade their knowledge over time can survive in this industry. For those who don’t like learning new things changing their ways can’t survive, hence SEO will die for those.

My question: “Will the question «Will SEO die?» ever die? Now that’s some meta question!

I think a good spin-off question to that is, is SEO declining in value? I’ve seen this talked about more and more, some key takeaway for me is to leverage your SEO data and to not silo your insights. With ChatGPT and more and more AI tools, it’s important to keep in mind that you can’t beat Google’s AI machines. Don’t just say goodbye to your content team, it’s still very important to create thoughtful, high-quality content.

As long as there’s bad SEOs out there, As long as there is bad content and poorly designed websites there will be SEO’s that are needed. So no SEO will remain a strong industry for many years to come. I also believe that there will be less SEOs to go around making the industry stronger for the ones that remain. SEO is not easy for a majority of people trying to master SEO out there and usually takes several years experience to master.

SEO would definitely die but that would be when search engines die. If search engines never die then SEO would not die. SEO strategies and practices might change but SEO itself is not dying.
