Will google only use data from the last 30 days for smart-bidding?

The thing is, I need to use smart-bidding for my campaign.

However, I need 15-30 conversions for that.

I can get them at a cheap cost, by just having low CPCs and letting it run on manual CPC for some months, or get them within the said 30-day timeframe at a much more expensive price (by raising CPCs).

I’d rather go with the former approach, since Im running on a very tight budget.

But I read somewhere that Google wants these conversions to have happened within the said 30-day period.

So I am confused. Would the first approach I described be useless? Do all these conversions need to occur within the same month to count for smart-bidding?

    Thanks!

Google will weight more recent conversions much more than conversions that are months old. Smart Bidding however will also take older conversions into account, it will just most likely lead to smart bidding not working at its full capacity if you cant provide even minimum conversion requirements in a certain timeframe.
