Depends on the links. Are they older than your ownership of the domain? Do you have a competitor who bought you a ton of garbage links in an effort to de rank you? Do other apps find that many links?

Spam, been compromised. Check spam score of website and quality of the links. Remove it if it’s not done by you.

Do a backlink analysis, if you dont have really high value content on your site.
Download the links from google search console and check those links and if they appear to be low value add the to a disavow list and submit it to the search console. Though it may take you considerable time to do this for that amount of backlinks.

The reported number of backlinks might not accurately represent your website’s actual backlink profile. Sometimes, automated tools like UberSuggest can mistakenly identify or count backlinks from various sources, including spammy or irrelevant sites. It’s a good idea to manually review your backlinks to ensure their quality and relevance. If you suspect any inaccuracies, you could use other reputable tools or consult with SEO experts to get a more accurate assessment of your backlink profile.

Every tool works in different ways, this has to be some error which relates with the particular tool you are using.

Try out the manual search if possible or use some another tool to compare the backlink profile.

Shopify? I have seen one with 55 million lol

It’s a exploit on vendor? and search? Basically someone can add URLs and spam link them.

Or it if it’s wordpress it could be the Japanese hack through htaccess or a cracked premium plugin.

When I was first aware of the Shopify one their answer was to 404 the links.

Have your 404 gone up massively on search console?

These are all bad answers. I could go on forever about this, but the short answer is ignore them and build good links. Don’t invest any more time and energy in looking at random junk links, wondering where they came from and how they will affect your site – you’ll drive yourself crazy and continue wasting time. (Speaking from experience – been there done that). Just do SEO.
