“why can’t I see my ads?” Please help me

Posted by zebett on July 7, 2023 at 4:53 pm

Hi everyone, hope you are all alright.
I need to explain to my clients why they can’t see their own ads.
Everything is alright from my side and I have explained MULTIPLE times the reasons why that might happen, can anyone tell me what you usually say to make them shut up once and for all?? I’m desperate!!

Point them to ad preview and diagnosis tool. They do not qualify for the impression every time they search the keyword they’re running ads on. Moreover, they’re hampering the quality score of their ad by searching and not clicking.

Split off part of the budget, create a custom audience targeting only them and maximize impression share. Problem solved.

Yeah, “if you do easily drained your own budget of advertising than I’d be a bad marketer. We can downgrade the targeting and make it easier to blow your budget out the window that way if you’d like.”

When clients are unable to see their own ads, it’s usually because ad targeting is based on factors like demographics and browsing history, which may not match their own profile. Ad platforms also rotate ads and limit frequency to provide a diverse experience. Ads might appear on platforms the clients don’t frequent, and ad-blocking software can block them as well. Additionally, if ads are geographically targeted, clients may not see them if they’re outside the intended region.

Ugh, this is the dreaded conversation that I’ve had far too many times. There are countless reasons why they might not see their own ads, but I’d imagine it’s because you’re using smart bidding, Google doesn’t identify them as meeting the criteria for serving impressions to them, budget is already exhausted for the day, etc., etc.

“google knows you are not going to buy your own service, so they don’t show you the ads, clever eh?”
