Who handles YouTube ads SEM Manager or social media manager
My boss wants to give YouTube to a paid social media manager, but he knows Jack about Google ads platform. I feel YouTube ads should be handled by me the paid search manager as I work on Google ads platform all day

Depends on structure of company .. but technically a sem function because it’s managed via Google ads

At my company, the person(me) managing paid search. But a lot of companies put YouTube under social media, so I guess it just depends.

If you define roles by ad platform then it goes to whoever is managing Google Ads. If you define roles by media type then it goes to whoever is managing paid social. There is no right or wrong, but whoever assumes responsibility needs to get trained up.
