  • Which social would be better to promote my tutoring business?

Posted by rightedo on April 17, 2023 at 1:11 pm

I’m thinking to create my personal website and find students independently from third platforms.

I’m in the scientific field (private lessons to math, physics and engineering softwares) for both high school and university.

Because I noticed I’m able to build a strong relation with my students I thought to start a dedicated account on a social media and collect reviews from them to slowly build a brand.

I’m not really sure if would be better targeting my potential students or their parents. But what do you think guys? Which social you would suggest for both categories? What kind of content?

Instagram and probably LinkedIn would be your best bet.

As you are traveling school and college students then I would suggest to go with Instagram first because your your audience is over there.

And once you have gathered enough testimonials from your students then build a website which show case all the courses you are offering.

Last but not the least build a team that helps you to expand on other social platform as well.

Nowadays student are the main decision makers if they like something they only convince there parents which makes your works easier.

    Hope it helps.

I would recommend you to use TikTok and Twitter if you targeting your students since they should be there. These two platforms are good for promotion on social media especially if you just starting because both of them are quiet helpful on ‘supporting’ new creators so people will be aware with your business.

But if you targeting their parents then you can try Facebook or LinkedIn as main platform to promote your tutoring business.

I would recommend go with instagram, make reel content, share your knowledge over there on reels, students are highly gonna recommend your reels to other students, why? Coz you are sharing valuable piece of content.

Trust me I’m down into this social media business & we are getting massive awareness through this strategy

Assuming High school age kids and below are your target:

Try create helpful content on Instagram (reels) & Tiktok for your target demographic. Their algorithm will still promote the content for free.

And then create content for their parents on Facebook. This would have to be paid boosted content on Facebook because their algorithm won’t promote to an audience for free.

None social media is not a place to promote your tutoring business. Maybe make a flyer or brought and bring it to schools, libraries

If I were you, I’d try non-trivial steps and turn my attention to decentralized social media like Solcial. They are good because they allow the author to post their content freely, they don’t restrict you with censorship and they don’t force you to advertise. In addition, you can create your own token and thus tokenize your business, offering your services to students for your author tokens. In any case, I would experiment with different options and not look for some “gold standard”. I think you will succeed!

Given your focus on math, physics, and engineering software, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn would be excellent platforms to start with. Instagram and TikTok have a younger audience, perfect for targeting high school and university students. You can create engaging content like reels, tutorials, and tips to showcase your expertise and connect with potential students.

On the other hand, LinkedIn will allow you to establish your professional credibility, network with other educators, and potentially reach parents of high school students who might be looking for tutoring services. Share articles, insights, and success stories to demonstrate your expertise and the value you provide.

To create content that appeals to both students and their parents, consider a mix of informative, educational, and engaging posts. Share success stories from your students, provide tips on improving study habits, and offer valuable insights into the subjects you teach. Also, don’t forget to encourage your current students to leave reviews and testimonials that you can share on your social media platforms to build trust and credibility.

Once you’ve established a presence on these platforms, you can consider expanding to other social media channels and building a website to showcase your courses and student testimonials. And, as you grow, you might want to look into using an Instagram growth service like Ascend Viral to help increase your reach and engagement even further.
