Have you done any A/B testing to see?
Maybe they won’t be a return visitor to hit them with it a second time. Then what?

Some people post about this stuff and go “I instantly hit back and leave”. But it’s not the majority. People do click it.

Whether people like it or not. I doubt the count of people who leave because of it anywhere near matches the number of people who ignore it or click “ok”.

Well someone woke up this morning, looked in the mirror and decided it would be useful to whine on social media about social media so anything is possible today ??‍♂️

As someone who works in digital marketing, we routinely have to make decisions we personally think are super dumb. The reality is “the masses” are not always like you, and in many cases, are far far less sophisticated. Most digital marketers do stuff because it works. If you saw the support tickets I get every day, you would realize just how dumb a LOT of people are.

Just want to add, I’m not trying to shit on people, not everybody has to be smart to be a good person, and there are different kinds of intelligence that don’t always manifest themselves in the digital world. There’s probably a better way to phrase it than “people are dumb” but that’s all I’ve got for now.

Nobody likes push notifications, that’s not a hot take…but to pretend like there isn’t an effective psychology to utilizing them makes me wonder if you have any experience using them?
