    Hi, many people are saying that Google will start core web vitals update next year. So what will be the future of backlinks after Core Web Vitals Update?

    1. Backlinks are in no way related to Web Vitals.
    2. What do you mean by “Core Web Vital Update”?

    Are you referring to the process of Google removing and adding metrics from/to what they call Web Vitals?

    Or do you think there is going to be a big update to the ranking algorithm that will introduce LCP, FID, and CLS as ranking factors?

    In both cases, this is unlike to be directly related to backlinks.

    Backlinks are used to deduct authority and understand what a brand/website is known for and related to. Web Vitals help predicting the user experience of a landing page.

    I sure hope there is time for a change. The importance of backlinks in search has gotten out of hand, and has had a major impact on how people share information. People have stopped linking without agreements or compensation. Readers are not getting the information they’re looking for.

    This is against the core idea of the World Wide Web. It’s vital for the future of the Internet that this practice stops.
