    Hey ya’ll

TLDR: Should I hire an editor or a social media manager? Which one will help us grow our platforms faster and be more consistent? Do social media managers add more value than we could if we sit down and learn the platforms?

I’m a realtor, Im working on being more consistent on social media. I am teaming up with a lender and we are trying to figure out what the most effective way to do things. Our goal is to get as many followers in the shortest period of time and convert these peolpe into potetntial clients on the following platforms:

    instagram, tiktok, youtube, and facebook.

My thought was to do podcasts discussing different topics and invite other professionals on it. Once we record a podcast we will upload that, and edit it down into a lets say a 10 minute video which will be on youtube then we will take clips from those videos and upload them as our short form content. To help with efficiency.

My thought was to edit the videos myself in the beginning and hire a social media manger to help us grow properly and make sure we are doing the right things. My lender is thinking we do the opposite. hire an editor then manage the accounts ourselves just because editing takes too much time (hes right). And pay for targeted social media ads which imo arent very effective.

Hire a freelancer that does both. It’s not uncommon for smm in smaller companies to do both. Big plus, he’ll know what to clip from the podcast and where to post.

If your goal is growth leading to client conversion, a smm will help you more with strategy and management than a video editor.

Basically, outsource anything that is cheaper to pay someone than to do yourself. The things you spend too much time on and your time would be better spent doing something else where you’d make more money.

This is true everywhere, not just with social media. It’s why a CEO gives work to a VP and the VP to a director, etc. Ideally you shouldn’t be doing anything that you can have someone else do for less (especially if they can do it faster and better).

I’m a social media manager and I always tell clients that I am here to make your life easier. Sure you can research and take the time to learn but you still need to come up with a strategy, create content, post, research hashtags and keywords, engage, etc… that’s what most social media managers do.

If you do not have the time or knowledge to grow your social platforms then it might be a good idea to outsource

Hey, I manage an account in real estate. You probably want to find both but smm is a higher priority.

Yeah, that makes sense, to be honest. As a realtor, it’s not your job to do all things by yourself tbh

Definitely, outsourcing can be a great idea.

I can recommend myself but if you are looking to run ads n all, then that’s not my thing. I focus more on organic growth n strategies

But yeah can help you with that as I have some good experience working with realtors.

Let me know if you are up for that, so we can discuss it. Feel free to DM me

Finding the right approach to grow your social media platforms and achieve consistency is crucial. Let’s weigh the options of hiring an editor versus a social media manager to determine which can help you grow faster and be more effective.

Editing the videos yourself initially can save costs, but it’s time-consuming and may take away from other important tasks. Hiring an editor frees up your time to focus on strategy, content creation, and building relationships.

A social media manager brings valuable expertise in growing and managing your platforms. They understand the platforms, trends, and strategies to engage and attract followers. They can develop and execute a tailored content strategy, optimize posts, and actively engage with your audience.

While learning the platforms yourself is an option, it can be time-consuming and may not yield the same expertise and efficiency as hiring a dedicated social media manager.

Regarding targeted social media ads, their effectiveness can vary depending on your audience, objectives, and execution. A skilled social media manager can ensure that your ad campaigns are properly targeted, optimized, and aligned with your goals.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your priorities, available resources, and desire for efficiency and expertise. Considering a combination of both options may be worth exploring.

Hi there! Your growth strategy sounds exciting. As a Social Media Manager, I can provide significant value. By understanding the algorithms and tactics of platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, I can help you attract and engage your target audience, converting followers into potential clients efficiently.

Furthermore, I can help optimize your content strategy, making sure your podcasts and short-form clips get the maximum reach and engagement.

Editing skills are useful, but a comprehensive social media strategy goes beyond just content creation. It includes audience analysis, brand voice consistency, trend analysis, effective engagement, and proper ad targeting – all of which I bring to the table.

The best part? You and your lender can focus on what you do best – providing valuable content and services. Let me handle the rest!

You could look at an external marketing agency, that way they can advise how best to support your business objectives and they’ll be able to offer services in addition to social media management
