What is the best way to learn SEO? I am completely new to the topic.

I personally believe the best way to learn anything is by doing, so my current plan is to just start a blog about a topic that interests me that also appears to have some keywords I can rank for and then just write articles and try to improve my ranking. I plan to spend a few weeks learning and then start. I will then continue to learn as I go by reading blogs, watching YouTube, etc.

Let me know if what you think and if there is anything you would do differently! If you have any resources for learning SEO that you like please let me know too! Thanks!

You’re on the right track. Starting your website about something that interests you gives you the opportunity to learn about websites, SEO, and your topic. You may even be able to turn a small profit. Those are the keys to learning and getting a quality job. An employer wants to see that you’re competent and profit motivated.

Income School, either the free resources on YouTube or their paid platform, are excellent resources.

I’m currently listening to audiobook “How to get to the top of Google” by Tim Cameron-Kitchen and it is a great introduction to SEO world.

I took a course and then got a job at a agency. I have my own website where I practice SEO concepts that I don’t learn or apply on the job. Also I read articles from SEJ, semrush, ahrefs, search engine land, moz, se ranking every week. Also YouTube I’m subscribed to a bunch of channels, also here on reddit.

As a beginner, get a plugin/tool like Rank Math or Yoast to at least help you properly understand and set up title tags, meta descriptions, site map, etc.

Consider taking the SEO course from Hubspot academy, the course is free and offer certification which you could include on your CV

Simply put, I notice that you are participating in discussions on Reddit platforms, and this is a good platform where you can learn SEO from experts and ask questions.
