All the social media platforms feel the same and like they’re missing core components, what is the main reason these platforms don’t feel the same or useful?

Less ‘suggested’ and ‘promoted’ posts on your timeline. Facebook was originally designed to see what your friends were up to but now you don’t get any of that it’s all pages and ads.

I feel like they focus too much on interests and FYP/explore opportunities. Comparing TikTok and IG, both have been really bad about either showing your posts to a very small percentage of your followers and your post fails or your post pops off and it’s 90-95% people from the FYP.

Pretty much your followers that see your stuff are just people who recently or most engage with you but it’s such a small number.

I just think there needs to be a better balance because it makes followers not matter which I think hurts smaller accounts more. 5% of 100 versus 5% of 100k, that’s a big deal when comparing accounts but sad that only 5% of your following may see it due to the lack of community effort on the algorithms part

Lol I think its the current generation that has ruined everything. It is not the fault of social media. You know what’s missing from social media — reality, truth. Everything is so fake these days + Toxicity bruhh .

Equality and Human Support. The same post will be fine at one account and will get another one banned. There is absolutely no logic and no consistency in the rules. It’s so frustrating, I am always feel so powerless. I cannot really report disgusting pages or ask about problems with mine.

Seeing Ads on Instagram while scrolling through someone’s personal feed can disrupt the flow of content and detract from the user experience. Business owners, entrepreneurs, and creators invest time curating their posts, and seeing an ad can divert attention away from their content. This can result in users clicking on the ad and becoming disengaged from the original channel they were viewing, rather than following it.

Social media are missing the social aspect. People connecting with each other, not just commenting on the same video/content.

Social media died with the golden age of facebook. Now everything is algorithm media/retention media.
