    #Twitter Algorithm Revealed

The platform revealed its algorithm on 31st March and here’s what I’ve learned about how it works.

Yes, Twitter Algorithm seems to prioritise Blue subscribers & they get more organic reach.
Reddit like Algorithm, Likes on Twitters boost your content the most (around 10x) more than Retweets. And comments impact your organic reach by a tiny fraction of growth.
Outbound links within tweets harm your engagement. This shouldn’t come as surprise because all of the platforms have similar algorithms for outbound links. They don’t want people living platform.

That’s why always use comments or edit your post few hours later on LinkedIn & Reddit to add links. First get the engagement!

The algorithm also labels if tweet is from Elon Musk. And also tracks mention regarding other specific celebrities & events to track trends across various channels consistently.

Your follower network defines your tweet engagement. From the starting you need to keep your content aligned with your twitter follower circle to reach more of the audience.

Factors like Unfollows & reports affect your account presence like other social media platforms.

    #Busting Instagram Myths

Instagram’s CEO & students of Official Instagram university shared some insights in march:

    1. Instagram doesn’t deprioritise reels edited in other apps or Capcut. But Instagram’s CEO mentioned that it is always better to post content without watermarks.
    2. Students of Instagram University mentioned that there is only Explore, feed & reels algorithm.
    3. Regarding Hashtags algorithm, CEO mentioned that hashtags don’t impact engagement on posts that much. But that doesn’t mean hashtags don’t work. Engagement is different from organic reach. You get organic reach from Hashtags when people are scrolling through different hashtags on Instagram.
    4. Also mentioned previously and again by IG University students. The main focus should be always on optimising keywords within your content to have better organic reach.

    #Tiktok’s Changing the Formats

In February Tiktok announced their new creator fund “Creativity Program” where creators need to create long form content with at least 1 minute length. The platform is demanding originality & more attention from creators that stays for a longer period.

Since this update, many creators have been facing issues regarding less reach on Tiktok for short form content & trendy posts. The platform seems to be realigning their goals. And now the focus is on hooking viewers for long periods.

Are you going to publish more long term content on Tiktok? Brands are already spending thousands on 30 second videos, a long form content push will increase the spend.

#More Organic Reach isn’t promised with Meta Paid Subscriptions

In New Zealand & Australia, Meta launched paid subscriptions with a benefit of getting more organic reach within feed, comments & more. But the platform isn’t planning for now to provide the same feature to US audiences. And even after two weeks since the launch of paid subscriptions in US, there are still no updates regarding the offer.

#Tiktok Parent Company is making an escape plan

The platform launched a new Instagram & Pinterest clone app called “lemon8” and the new app entered the Top US App Charts within few days of the launch.

With this app, the parent company Bytedance is focusing on fighting against other social media giants in US if Tiktok gets banned. The app seems to provide similar features like Pinterest & Instagram but the company is focusing on promoting Gen-Z favoured ethics, values & design to attract the new generation.

#Ad Tracking Changes for Meta in Europe

From this Wednesday, EU users will be able to opt out of Ad tracking (Personalised Ads) on Instagram & Facebook. After fighting for a long time with EU about the Ad policies, Meta lost the battle & now to stay in EU. They have to provide the opportunity to EU users to opt out of the Ads.

For Advertisers In EU, this can impact the targeting features of the Metas Ad network. Other than this, There can be a possible ban regarding Political Ads in EU.

    #LinkedIn is Pushing the Limits

Annouced last week, LinkedIn is very empathetic about pushing more recommended content to your feed based on interactions between the post & your network. Good for creators & businesses, bad for users to see more unwanted content.

And various regular LinkedIn users have been seeing an decrease in usage limits and the requirements for premium membership are increasing. The platform is now showing less search results and showing the LinkedIn premium sign-up prompt.

Overall LinkedIn is pushing more content & prompts for users to stay more engaged.
