What happened with the August 10 update? Is it being rolled down?
Hi guys,
What exactly happened with the August 10 update?
Is Google rolling it down? My customer’s main page was in top-100 three days ago and now it’s in top-33.
What is going on? 🙂

Google said something. Metrics have been different for a lot. Hopefully they’ll say something else about it.

There was no update, it was just a bug. If it took a few days to happen it will take a few days (or weeks) to go back.

It was a “glitch”, not an update. John Mueller confirmed on Twitter.
Everything should be back to normal, but some unusual rankings to be expected.

There was no glitch. The semrush sensor is showing 9.0.

Like throwing a rock in a pond, the effects of google´s gaffe are still rippling effects around. My site in Mexico -35% traffic. This morning, Semrush Sensor reported 9.8 in Australia where I have 3 sites in progress.
Honestly, I have been dealing with Google the whole week these 3 new sites with Google merchant and Google Ads, and these guys are the worst service… it seems they don’t know what they are doing.
I guess if they keep doing it this way, the share in the pie from 96% will drop… And I think we need competition!!!

I’m still down about 15% average.
If it’s a glitch, I wish they’d hurry up and fix it.
