I have a client who will spend any amount in Google Ads, so long as they remain under a certain CPA (yes…the age-old story…but in this case it’s true).
Unfortunately, the only thing that converts for them under their CPA goal is Display—specifically managed placements, serving expanded text ads on desktop and tablet only. (18 years of account history proves this).
So search is not an option.
Gmail is out.
YouTube is out.
The new Discovery campaigns are not an option, because the client does not convert on mobile.
And so-called “discovery” display…letting Google find placements when targeting audiences, for example…has terrible CPA.
I’ve tried Target CPA on Display’s managed placements , as well as maximize conversions, in the past…results were terrible.
So are there any options to expand here, when I am bidding on every relevant URL under the sun? Get more volume, but not at the expense of CPA? Any options I’m missing on? Any targeting expansion Without getting into a situation where Google is serving my ads outside of the URL’s I am Targeting.
