Twitter’s “unreliable, untrustworthy, clueless, a scam, the worst social network, a joke,” etc. But, there’s yet to be a mass user exodus from the platform, despite mud-throwing in every headline criticizing ongoing UI/UX and policy changes.

Even with Substack Notes and similar functionality on Mastodon, there isn’t an equal to Twitter and Twitter’s user experience (yet). Someone, somewhere, is brewing up a new platform to fill the void—but when will it launch? And will there be a sentiment shift before then?

Until major Twitter contributors leave the platform, advocate for a new social network, and take their user base with them, it’s unlikely the diaspora of current users will occur. Major advertisers will eventually crawl back if the average user never leaves.

Its true. There really is just no alternative to Twitter yet. A lot of people tried to make LinkedIn or Mastadon that alternative, but those platforms are way too siloed and fragmented in their feeds to be a Twitter replacement. Twitter is actually an incredibly simple concept, it shouldn’t be that hard to replicate it (and improve on it). Competitors need to stop trying to make it more complicated and niche – it just ruins the concept. And if people want niche discussion forums they’ll go to Reddit or Discord.

I don’t have a replacement but I’ve been using way less even for work. I’ve just been using the other apps more.

I am killing it on Twitter. The engagement is beyond high and I get a ton of traffic back to my website. You can hate the guy. You can be butt hurt about the platform, but if you want to reach people it is crushing anything Meta or YT is doing.

All media BS, simply because he made a few pro-right comments. Most people aren’t open-minded and accepting the moment politics are introduced to the conversation. Their reptiles brains turn on the moment key word triggers: Biden, Trump, Trans, Laptop, etc
