TikTok squatter using client’s company name. Anyone successfully gotten their handle back?
The person who secured my client’s company name as a handle isn’t using it, no posts or anything. I have contacted TikTok to see if we can get it, but wondering if any of you have had experience getting a handle from a TikTok squatter and how it went. Thank you!

Unless they have a trademarked name, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get it back. Additionally, they have to be attempting to actively impersonate the brand (which it sounds like they’re not doing). Highly doubtful you’ll be able to get control of the account.

This is interesting. Do social handles work like domains, meaning, you can purchase those from the initial owners? Is that what the squatter is hoping for?
