This keyword is not triggering any ads, because another keyword was found to be a better fit?

    Hi there PPC peeps,

My new ads aren’t appearing at all, so I diagnosed them.

And here’s what the diagnosis said for my keyword ‘volunteer travel’:

***”This keyword is not triggering any ads, because another keyword was found to be a better fit for this query. Those ads may have also been rejected for other reasons.”***

Please refer to the image for a screenshot: [https://imgur.com/fZbVrnc](https://imgur.com/fZbVrnc)
No other keyword in my whole account has ‘volunteer travel’ in it.

I’m bidding on other keywords like volunteer travel, volunteer holidays & volunteer trips (and other volunteer related keywords).

But these are all different keywords, and I would’ve thought Google allowed us to bid on different synonyms of the same keywords? Or does Google not allow us to bid on similar keywords like this?

I’m so confused. Please let me know what your thoughts are & how to fix this!

    Thanks guys 🙂

According to the screenshot you shared, the three keywords that could match to the search were 1. +volunteer +travel 2. +volunteer +trips 3. +volunteer +holidays. The last two have the reason you are asking about, and it means exactly what it says: another keyword is a better fit/match, so those two keywords won’t represent your account in the auction.

The KW that won the “internal auction” in your account was #1 +volunteer +travel. However, because the ad rank is low on that KW, its bid isn’t sufficient for it to win any place in the auction and show an ad in the search. So, you can either improve your QScore with ads/LP improvements, or you can increase the bids on that KW.
