Switching Personal profile on ig
Is it a smart plan to switch your personal instagram into a content creating instagram so that you already have a following? My new content would be very different from what I’m used to posting which is mostly just vacation pictures. I’d also switch my name to the name of my YouTube channel and other socials. Is this a good idea or does it screw up your algorithm?

No that isn’t why they are following you in the first place.

Just my single perspective, so take it with a grain of salt. I’ve unfollowed friends who did this, especially if the content was promoting a business or posting daily. Like I just want to keep in touch. If I wanted to see all their content I’d follow their business page or YouTube channel.

Personally, I think you’re better off starting a new account from scratch. There’s a high likelihood that the followers on your personal account won’t want to be bombarded with advertising that they didn’t follow you for, and they won’t engage with your content. Starting from scratch will allow you to learn what works and what doesn’t, what sort of audience you’re attracting, and to see a more genuine picture of your growth. Good luck!
