  • Struggling to grow my travel Instagram account. Any advice?

Posted by EuphoricSentence8505 on April 17, 2023 at 1:42 am

I started a travel Instagram account about a year ago, documenting my adventures and sharing beautiful destinations with my followers. I’ve been posting consistently, but I’ve been stuck at around 1.5k followers for months. Other travel accounts I know are growing much faster.

Should I buy followers to appear more popular and attract more people?

    1. Do not buy followers, it actually hurts you.

    2. It’s hard to say what could help without seeing the page, if you DM it to me and a couple of the accounts they are growing – i’ll give you some honest feedback if that would help.

    3. If you don’t want to show account, or rather just have overall general guidance- best advice i can give is to make sure you are speaking to your audience, and to collaborate with other influencers that have the audience you want/need.

one of the biggest things is that…they don’t “know” you. so depending on what you are posting, they may not “connect” with you yet…and there may not be any reason for them to follow if there is nothing in it for them.

Are you teaching them something, giving valuable information, or best places to stay or eat?

have you shared an inspirational story about WHY you are taking these adventures?

Was there a life event you went through that people can relate to?

Can you show them how to life life and take adventures just like you?

If there is nothing relatable, inspiring, and no reason to really follow except to see where you go next….and they don’t even know you…it’s going to be tough to get fans and followers.

If you start to make it about how you can help and inspire people instead of about yourself, and then start collaborating with other travel accounts and/or influencers …you will be gold!

    Is your content good?

Totally agree don’t buy followers. First of all people will likely discover your content, rather than your page. If your content is good then it doesn’t matter how many followers you have, people will follow.
Are you trying different content? Instagram prioritizes reels and videos. Are you providing value to viewers? Travel tips? Hacks? Showing them someplace they have seen? Or your unique perspective on a place that they can rely on?

Buying followers will works at the beginning only. After that it will ruined your account and it will make your account ‘unhealthy’. There are some of things that you can try to grow your acc is safe way.

    1. Evaluate your content and re-targeting your audience. See what kind of post/content that your followers like the most.

    2. Do testing/experiment. From my experience as social media specialist, if you are on Instagram you need to do a a lot of content testing and experiments regularly. Usually I try to make different kind of content and change it every 2 weeks because somehow the audience on Instagram are easily to get bored (some people believe it’s maybe because of Instagram algorithm are suck)

    3. Post more reels. Instagram reels have more reach and impression than another type of content on Instagram. Another type of content that also likely have better performance is Instagram carousel post.

    4. Use Instagram Ads. You can use instagram ads to boost your content so it will help you to reach more people which has similar interests to your content.

I recommend focusing on engaging with other travel accounts and their followers. Comment on their posts, like their followers’ comments, and respond to their followers to increase the chances of them noticing your profile. Avoid spammy comments, and instead opt for genuine compliments or observations about their content.

I advise against buying fake followers or likes, as this can harm your account’s reach and even lead to it being banned. If you’re willing to invest in promotion, consider ads or growth services instead. AscendViral is a growth service that has received positive reviews and could help you grow organically.

Utilize hashtags effectively for more visibility, choosing low competition hashtags to avoid your posts being buried. Also, include location tags for cities or regions you visit. Ultimately, perseverance is key. Best of luck!
