  • Social Media Promotion with Movies: Your Thoughts?

We all know how powerful social media is when it comes to promotion and creating revenue opportunities. What if you could make that power work for something as entertaining as movies?

My team and I have been developing White Rabbit, a unique platform that blends the love for cinema and the potential of social media. Here’s how it works:

    1. Browse our platform and choose a movie that you believe resonates with you and your audience.
    2. Purchase the movie to watch it, which will then generate a unique link that you can share on your social media channels.
    3. Earn a 20% commission each time someone purchases the movie through your link.
For instance, if a movie costs $5 to buy and you manage to influence just 1,000 of your followers to make a purchase, that’s a sweet $1,000 straight into your pocket!

Do you think this could be a model of interest to influencers? Do you think this could add value to your social media strategies? I’d love to hear your thoughts, whether they’re positive, negative, or questions for clarity.

    We’re all ears!
    Best,
    Howard

Licensing deals are the reason a movie can cost that price on a large platform. Notoriously hard to negotiate and to get into.

Subscription based would be a better model for today’s market.

Influencer marketing is already a thing. Social media has been used to promote movies for a decade. Haven’t seen a website with a model and a split like yours tho.

Does a movie studio have to pay to promote their movies through the service? If so, knowing 1/5 goes to the creator, why not partner with them directly? You don’t provide a unique watching experience.

Well, we are already seeing the rise of influencer marketing and movies are also being promoted through micro influencers.

This commission model seems good for small-medium sized influencers, I dont think the licensing and all is worth doing it.

Although I like what Amazon Prime is doing by suggesting rent movies options.

I’d say you can test this on a smaller regional scale and then maybe think about how to go about.
