Social media manager
Posted by seohelper on April 6, 2021 at 8:12 amI would like to start an Instagram page for my company and I have created some content. I found a lady to start making images for me, but she was incredibly slow (did only created graphics on canva for 6 posts despite saying she would have all 30 done a week ago – with the content that I had already written), she launched my page and didn’t actually post any posts – so it had nothing on there.
I’ve temporarily disabled it, to work out what to do.Needless to say I’m petrified of letting anyone manage the account. I just don’t think I have the knowledge or skill to do it myself.
Are there any reputable and affordable companies, or should I just give up?

GuestApril 6, 2021 at 8:26 amGetting an agency onboard will probably cost you more but they’ll be more reliable. If you have the budget for it, there’s nothing like it. However, if you don’t – I’d suggest you set expectations and scope of work with a potential resource before starting work.

GuestApril 6, 2021 at 8:39 amDon’t hire an agency, get a person who comes with a few references and in the begining set daily goals and check on with them everyday. It’s a little cumbersome but monitoring goes a long way. If you’re skeptical try hiring someone for a week on trial basis.

Maybe we could do a zoom. If you have some basics, you really should be okay managing this on your own.

GuestApril 6, 2021 at 1:04 pmQUALITY before QUANTITY!
Would you rather have one post with 10 000 likes or100 posts with 10 likes each?
It’s better not to post anything on social media as a business if you’re not putting money behind it to advertize your post. Organic reach is almost completely dead in 2021 and having posts with a low number of likes will hurt your image more than anything.
Source: I make a living by managing business pages and I grew a couple from 0 to 100K followers.

GuestApril 6, 2021 at 1:25 pmIt somewhat depends on what type of business you have. I often prefer to see someone internally creating the content. You can find freelancers or large and small agencies but you’re often going to end up with boring content. OTOH, if you do it yourself or designate an intern or someone else at the company with following you or your employees around, they can often capture good content in a way that an outside can’t. Now if you’re creating content and having someone create the images, then hire them for a brief trial to see how they do. Don’t give them access to your account. You can also use a service like Hootsuite to schedule your posts in advance.

GuestApril 6, 2021 at 2:11 pmYou need to build a brand persona rather than just posting some content about your products and services.
The audience should be getting value out of your content which should make them engage with the brand. This will lead to them trusting you more and would be likely to buy from you as well.
30 posts a week is pretty good. But should have different formats of content to make the audience not feel monotonous!
I am a freelance social media manager and would love to help you with this!
PM me if you wanna discuss more!
