  • Social Listening tools – recommendations. Synthesio?

    Hello,

We are on the hunt for a robust social listening tool. Currently, we are using Falcon’s listening tool and we have used Brand24 in the past. Right now we are looking at Sprout’s social listening and considering Synthesio. Does anyone have any experience with Synthesio? What did you like, what did you hate?

Additionally, does anyone have any recommendations for better social listening tools? We need it to monitor Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. LinkedIn, Slack, and Spiceworks are nice to haves. Slack would be huge for us in particular, but I’m not sure if it’s possible since it’s a private chat space.

    Looking forward to your input!

Anything fully private like a Slack community will be tough to get – social listening tools mostly run on public data – but you should definitely ask the vendor directly during the demo process.

On top of the ones you mentioned, you could also try Talkwalker (social listening experts – they should cover all the networks you mentioned, and you can integrate some of their result streams right into Slack), or Sprinklr (less specialized in social listening, they also do social media management for ex).

    Hope this helps.

I found the interface for Synthesio to be clunky and bug-ridden through last Spring (2020)…but improvements were always said to be on the horizon. We returned to Netbase. I find the interface of Netbase to be mostly user friendly, content collection is good, there are other evaluation options that make it useful for myself. I’m a heavy user of whatever platform we choose and was the evaluation “team” when our previous contract with Netbase was up for renewal. I looked at Synthesio, Brandwatch, and Talkwalker. Talkwalker was great – I was familiar with it and had used in a past role – but the pricing structure didn’t work for my team. Synthesio promise A LOT and under-delivered for our purposes, hence the return to Netbase. Personally, I’d ask for a demo and then see if you can get a trial period to try some hands on setup/querying.

Awario scans Twitter and Reddit. But they don’t have Facebook now…
