  • Should my Title tag have the exact keyword or is a variation fine?

Posted by Mattrissik1504 on January 1, 2023 at 3:55 pm

Hi, just looking to find out if I can have a title tag that is slightly altered to the keyword I am hoping to rank on. My agency is doing pretty well with ranking for specific keywords but some keywords we are ranking for don’t sound good grammatically as a title tag. For instance the one keyword we ranking for is “SEO Specialist Wakefield” and it is doing well but could be rather change the title tag to something along the lines of “SEO Specialists in Wakefield” or “Best SEO Specialist in Wakefield”. Would that affect our chances with the keyword when Google crawls the page again? This is one of the many examples. Please advice

You’re overthinking it. Any of the above work.

I would put the word “in” your title. Best? Your call. If it’s true put it in.

Yes you would be fine with slight variations.

I’m always drawn to the exact keyword but the reality is many of the top results are questions that have the keyword in it or variations of the keyword

id question more if thats the right kw to even bother with.

I’ve ranked for many ‘SEO Specialist <town>’ searches and they’ve hardly ever generated any leads and not been worth the bother.
