Should I run Google Search Ads alongside Google Shopping ads as a new business?

Posted by Pretzelman1234 on July 25, 2023 at 11:16 pm

I just started my first google shopping campaign about a week ago. I have an online jewelry store and I think Google may still be trying to learn my business, as I’m only getting a few clicks on a 2-3 products that are more or less the same (toi et moi rings). I’m wondering if I should now also run a search campaign and bid on keywords? Will it help Google better understand my business and help my shopping campaign? If not, any other ideas? Thanks!

You enter two auctions and pay for one. As long as you hit your return, playing both auctions has upside.

Yes. In short you’re targeting different types of users that way. Google Louis Vuitton and you’ll see how big companies approach this.

In general, you should be running some search campaigns, however, most online shops should have 90%+ of their budget going towards shopping ads.

Search may include your brand, topics for your top-selling products, and possibly competitor brands, although the return on that is typically very low.
