SEO/WordPress – Is it a problem or is it normal?
Posted by seohelper on July 2, 2021 at 10:28 amGood Morning!
My website was in 2nd in google searches and after 1 day of using Rank Math it doesn’t even appear on the first 10 pages. What happened? It’s normal? I’m new to SEO and saw that this plugin was highly recommended here in this sub.
Thanks

GuestJuly 2, 2021 at 10:50 amHey!
I Maybe happened because you changed SEO plugin.
Check the following things in your site.
-Is your site currently indexed in google or not by using site operator.
– Check your plugin setting maybe you click on no index option.
Otherwise PM, I will check and tell you the issue.

GuestJuly 2, 2021 at 12:17 pmDo a simple search in Google: “site:https://yourwebsite.com” and see if it is truly showing in index. Go from there. Plus you can always reach out to their support.

GuestJuly 2, 2021 at 5:54 pmHow are you checking rankings? Are you just googling yourself and looking? If Google sees that you keep using certain keywords and not clicking the results, it’ll stop showing those results (your website) because it’s trying to figure out what you’re looking for.

GuestJuly 2, 2021 at 6:16 pmCheck these things:
If the website isn’t appearing at all:
1. Check whether it is being indexed for not (from search console or you can type the exact url in search engine to check)
2. Check the robots.txt to see if you have blocked any specific pages and sitemap to see if the url is there or not.
3. See if you have put any no index tag to the page
4. See the seo title and meta description of the page as well.If the page has fallen in rank and is appearing:
1. Check on page and off page seo and think how can i improve it.

GuestJuly 2, 2021 at 11:58 pmswitching seo plugins can cause issues. I recently had a similar problem when moving from rankmath back to yoast. I couldn’t figure out why my homepage ranking disappeared. after looking at the code (view source), I found a ‘no index’ meta tag in the head section. It only appeared in the code. the homepage was set to full index in the WordPress backend. the only way to remove no index was to turn off yoast. I had the premium version, so I got support involved. after having me verify 10+ settings and preparing a staging server for them, support people still couldn’t figure it out and after a few days I got elevated. finally someone sent me instructions for clearing out all the data yoast stores in WordPress by using a different support plugin and that finally cleared the no-index tag. when I asked why that tag got inserted to begin with, the support person said he had no idea but does see stuff like this sometimes when switching between SEO plugins…
so, check your source code and best of luck.
