SEO Lead has left- what can I do as an associate?
Hey all! Question for you, career navigation wise. I’ve been working as an SEO Associate in-house for a mid-size company for about 4 months now, operating in 10 countries. The associate work is pretty standard- KW research, competitor analysis, on-site fixing and optimization, etc. However my SEO Lead, who has been with the company since the beginning, is leaving at the end of the month, with no plans to replace them. I’m a bit unsure of what to do. While my technical knowledge is good, taking over SEO strategy for the whole company is extremely daunting to me. I assume I’ll be taking over much more responsibility-wise and having to learn very, very quickly about strategy. I’ve got two years of strict SEO internships behind me, and have really been thrown into the fire with this job.
So two questions I have I guess:
1. What are some good resources to really dive deep into different kinds of SEO strategies so I’m not completely screwed?
2. Is it a good idea to ask for a raise accordingly?
Thanks!
