  • SEO for a small local construction company

I was hoping to find out how difficult it is to get on the first page of google in a small town. Is this something I need a professional to do or can I learn to do it myself? If I can do it myself, where’s a good place to learn how? If I need to hire someone, where’s a good place to find someone that knows what they’re doing?

List your business in Google Business first … Create business profile also on social media like FB, Insta, Linkedin to improve your branding. If you have enough time to learn then search and read about local SEO and citation building because these two can help you to get local leads and traffic . If not enough time then hire any professional for promotion.

    Hi!

If you can share your website, I will be able to tell you what you are doing wrong and suggest what to do next.

If you are learning SEO, then most probably you can do it by yourself. Feel free to contact me. Thanks.

Yes you can do it, but honestly you should be working on your business. Theres so much to be made in construction. Hire a local SEO expert.

    Low effort results:
    – Create google business profile
    – Create facebook or instagram page
    – Set facebook page as business website

Anything other than thatm hire an expert.

It’s pretty easy to rank on the first page in a small town. Keep in mind that it depends on a few factors though. Posting your site would help.

Also, how big is your town?
With that said your best bet is to hire someone.

I worked for my parents construction company for a while before I moved into SEO.

Setup a Google business profile and set your service areas to where you work. Also build out everything you can in your GBP and add pictures.

Setup a Facebook and Instagram account to highlight your work on social.

Keep your website simple to what you do and where you do it and have a good contact us page.

Highlight some of your best works on the website.

Don’t worry about writing blogs or any of that crap. Spend most of your focus on the Google Business Page.

As others have said, your Google Business Profile is going to be a quick win. Then set up specific service pages to match query/search intent. Then work on your local on-site SEO. Reach out any time via DM with questions. (Souce: 10 years of experience in SEO for small businesses).

Bro the honest answer is you can higher someone from upwork or iskills market. Because SEO is not a piece of cake you’ve to invest a significant amount of time to acquire this skill. SEO is $122 Billion industry now in 2023 so if you want to learn this skill thats the best case scenario otherwise hire someone and don’t fuc* you site up in learning process.

Is it a small town near Chicago or a small town in bumblefuck … that matters immensely. Google doesn’t care about individual cities when it’s a suburb, it’ll pull competitors from 10 miles away if it has to/especially if it’s a competitive term

Hey there! Getting your small local construction company on the first page of Google is definitely a great goal to achieve.

While it’s possible to learn and implement SEO strategies on your own, it can be time-consuming and requires a good understanding of the ever-changing SEO landscape.

Hiring a professional SEO agency can be a wise investment to ensure effective results.

As someone who owns a reputable SEO agency with 13+ years of experience, I can confidently say that working with experts can save you time, effort, and help you achieve better outcomes.

A professional SEO team will have in-depth knowledge of local SEO techniques, keyword research, content optimization, and link building strategies specific to your industry (i know it is tough to find one).

I have had clients from the same industry approach me after having a negative experience with agencies that lacked the necessary capabilities, and despite a year of working with those agencies, their SEO results remained unsatisfactory.

To find the right SEO partner, I recommend looking for agencies with a proven track record, positive client reviews, and transparent communication. You can explore online directories, review platforms, or seek recommendations from trusted sources in your industry.

I’d be more than happy to chat with you if you have any queries. Feel free to connect with me.

Plenty of great advice in the other comments.

I’m sharing what I learn as I optimize my SME and apply my copywriting skills.

I wrote an SEO primer freely available for download from my Ko-fi page.

    Links in my bio.

Glad to see people are actually being honest here. Would love to add a point.
-be genuine and own your business on google maps like a boss
    1-connect it with your email
    2-post frequently on gmb page
3-create a google website for portfolio
    4-bring quality reviews”5 star at-most”
Keep on repeating the 2nd and 4th point and you will get a good number of local leads
