Seeing a 60% drop off in traffic since the update
Hi guys,
So just wanted to check with you guys if anyone is seeing similar effects of the December core update.We have a site in the igaming affiliate space.
We have seen positive uplifts from previous two updates yet this one resulted in 60% drop off in traffic.The team is not really keen on changing strategy and we are just getting the site ready for the may update in regards to core web vitals.
I don’t have a direct question but was hoping to have a conversation with some of you to see how you went about overcoming this updates from offs.

I have dropped some traffic since update but now my website traffic is recovering from few days.

30% drop in december, but things are looking better now.

70% drop on my main site and still dropping. We did well with the last updates too.
I’ve been following a few other sites that were also hit and a few are still dropping, some have been recovering over the last few days.
Still haven’t figured out what the main causes are as I’ve seen some massive retail sites hit, non-affiliate blogs that were hit, affiliate blogs that were hit, news sites, etc. Others seem to have spiked dramatically.
I was seeing a lot more UGC sites coming up higher in results so I thought that Google was now favoring sites like Quora and Reddit but I’m not seeing a major spike with them either. I’m stumped.
