  • Recommendations for SEO training for non-commercial website?

Our website (sorry, don’t have permission to share) is for people working in NGOs, academia, non-profits, etc., and provides lots of information and resources – ours and links to other people’s. We aren’t selling anything, so a lot of the SEO training doesn’t apply. (I do try to use the stuff that does apply anyways.) For example, if someone follows us on Twitter, follows a link in a Tweet and reads the blog, then leaves – that’s fine, not a bounce/failure (we have a lot of regulars who have read the relevant back catalogue, have signed up for e-alerts if they want them, etc.). I think I need to build in events and goals using some kind of marker that just tells me e.g. how many people liked the blog enough to read all the way through, things like that. (We do have front-page links to other recent posts, top posts, and other relevant posts that people do use, as well as sorting posts by topic.) Any suggestions for training (book, webpage, training course, whatever) that is angled in this direction? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! (P.S. Hiring an SEO person to give me a tailored course based on our actual website is hopefully going to happen but not till later in the year, and I’d rather get some more basics right first and have them give us higher level expertise, if you see what I mean.)

Coming up with those goals and what’s important for you will help you know what SEO campaigns to go after and what you can go after.
A free one/good one is ahrefs and there beginners affiliate marketing course/ebooks. There is so much in SEO. Good luck!
