There was a recent update on personalized advertising by Google which stated that real estate/housing ads cannot be targeted to audiences based on gender,age, parental status, marital status, or zip code.
I wanted to ask if we could still use in-market audiences like “Residential Properties/real estate”, “properties for purchase” and so on, or no?
Yes, most in-market audiences for RE are still there (in US). For the zip code, simply use radius targeting on the zip as a workaround, that is not blocked.
Yes, in-market, custom, and even detailed demographics audiences are fine. Demographics (other than income level) and zip/postal code targeting are no longer allowed.
One tip, ensure that if you’d previously excluded anybody in demographics that you remove the exclusions.
