  • Random spike of followers on LinkedIn business page, what gives?

Posted by StaticHolocene on May 1, 2023 at 6:10 pm

The LinkedIn business account I manage occasionally sees a one day spike of new followers from the normal 5-10 to 30-40, but this past week, we saw a sizable and sustained spike over almost the full week, peaking at 108 new followers. Any idea what could have caused this? None of our content had abnormal engagement and no notable reposts.

Maybe you got written about somewhere and didn’t know.

Are you currently recruiting? Do you have any interesting job ads posted and running at the moment? That sometimes explains spikes in followers.

Do you have any LinkedIn job postings up?

Could have to do with any of the employees. If it’s a large company, there could be quite a few staff members doing various things on Linkedin which then cause a showcase of your business page. It could be something as simple as one employee inviting their connections to the company page. More likely, it’s simply various employees using their LinkedIn which is causing the company to be seen more.

Another thought is that the linkedin company page link was posted somewhere that has a lot of people seeing it.

You could be seeing some migration from Twitter, if you have a Twitter account. We’ve noticed an uptick in activity and followers on LI, mostly because people are tired of Elon’s bullshit.
