  • Question Regarding Age of Website and Impact on SEO

Posted by seohelper on August 17, 2020 at 1:54 am

I have read that the age of a website can have a strong positive impact on its SEO strength.

What I’m wondering is that (assuming that is indeed a factor) is the domain registration the indicator of age? Or, the publish dates of posts?

    – Registration Date
    – Duration of Registration
    – Ownership Volatility
    All very small trust factors

The reason most people say old website are valuable is mainly because of their potential backlink profile, established brand and trust with google and clear subject authority for whatever business they’re in (given that the website has been managed properly and has seen growth/time)

Cool. Thanks for that. Was trying to figure out if publishing articles with old publish dates would be worth it, but looks like it wouldn’t.

I did a ton of research on domain age last year.

    To summarize it.

It is impossible to test for domain age.

The longer a domain lives, the more content and links it has. Thus, the more it ranks.

Belief that domain age matters is at best just a guess based on flawed studies.
