I wanted to know if I have a reel that is doing well and getting a lot of views, does uploading a new reel eat into the reach of the reel which is doing well? Should I be concerned about releasing new content and hampering the reach of the performing reel?

I find that if I have a reel going viral—it helps my other content too. Post and take advantage of the eyes you have on your account.

It’s not supposed to work like that. If something is doing well and getting engagement the algo should push your other content more. Not always 100% perfect in practice but that’s the way it’s designed

Agree with the other comments. If I have a reel doing well, my new content will do better than similar content before the good reel.

I’ve been spending a fair bit of time on my reels lately, some flop which is annoying because they take a while and others do really well. I can’t work out the algo…

If you’re concerned about performance after a great reel engage quite a bit after you post that reel and it should help your reach even more to keep that wave going.

If you “spam” Instagram with reels it’s still won’t stop eyes seeing your content, Instagram pushes each post down a set path and sees the results, aka likes, shares, watch time per post and if one pops will push it further. I did 3 to 4 reels a day for 45 days straight, and nothing happened till day 30 and had a couple of reels break 1m views and then the rest picked up nicely.

Instagram and YouTube are like the cookie monster, just feed it continuously, and regularly and over time it will work and your page will grow nicely

From my experience with Instagram Reels, uploading a new reel shouldn’t negatively impact the reach of an already well-performing reel. In fact, consistently posting new and engaging content is important to maintain and grow your audience. Instagram’s algorithm is designed to reward creators who consistently post high-quality content by giving them better visibility and reach.

That being said, it’s crucial to focus on the quality of your content rather than solely on its performance. If you’re looking to improve your Instagram presence and reach, you might want to consider using a growth service like ascend viral. They can help you gain more followers and increase your engagement in an organic way, which could boost the overall performance of your content, including your reels. Keep posting regularly, engaging with your audience, and optimizing your content to perform well on Instagram.
