  • Possible To Undo 301 Redirect?

Hey guys, a couple of weeka back I did a couple of 301s to redirect a few old posts to newer ones.

Would it have any adverse effects on my site if I were to reverse these 301s and leave things as they are originally were?

Google officially transposes all value from A to B after 180 days.

In theory, rip the band aid off and reverse if you’re going to. But mileage will vary in how long it will take Google to process.

I’d figure out what you want for the long term, and get there directly. It happens that people revert (remove or reverse) a redirect, it’s not the end of the world. Keeping things stable makes everything so much easier though. In other words, change it if you want, but don’t change it again in a week.

If you did the redirect just a couple of weeks ago, just remove the redirect to make sure the original page is there if you remove the 301 redirect otherwise it’ll be 404. If it’s only been a couple of weeks, the redirect will have not taken effect permanently.

    hello dear

Yes, it is possible to undo a 301 redirect by removing the redirection rules and restoring the original URLs. However, reversing the 301 redirects may have some adverse effects on your site. When you implemented the redirects, search engines and users were directed to the newer posts, and they may have indexed or bookmarked those URLs.

    thank you
