PBNs, Guest Posts, Niche Edits, and Citations (for local). You don’t need anything else.
This can be a long long list, but in reality most of those don’t do anything.

It’s much more effective to pay for links than to create a great site and expect backlinks. I know of moderately popular sites (approx 100 users a day for a year) that has received zero “natural” backlinks. I read you need more traffic to expect free linkage. Many ppl need to see it. To get the traffic, the most effective method is to pay.
