  • Platform to get inspired by highly focused and dedicated people

I read this quote in Atomic Habits, and it stuck in my mind: “Your culture sets your expectation for what is “normal.” Surround yourself with people who have the habits you want to have yourself. You’ll rise together.”

I realized that the culture around me does not encourage me to become the best version of myself, including my university peers, school friends, family and even the general social media culture on Instagram. I once used to be a highly focused person, young, and sharp when I did not hold a phone yet, but after I did, and after I made some social media accounts to ride the wave back in 2015, I noticed that it started infiltrating some values that I did not used to have in my head, at the same time, it did provide some useful content for me (mainly insightful content and as well as motivating content).

Now my point is, I’m taking little steps at a time, and I’m planning to quit this social media culture where many people are in their comfort zones, dancing, mindlessly scrolling reels, making jokes here and there. And I want you to guide me to another platform where I interact with highly dedicated people, focused on their goals, sharing useful contents, quotes, insights and whatnot. I’m sure you get what I mean (and no, it’s not LinkedIn, I’m looking for some media based app or so)

    Your advice is highly appreciated.

I think we have to create it. I came up with a whatsapp group that tracks daily conscious habits, maybe you’d like to join!

Change what accounts you follow, watch Twith or YouTube streams of coffee shop or body double to help you be productive, join a FB group or two relating to your industry and check on those instead of doom scrolling. No need to cut out social media cold Turkey or you might not succeed, just do a lot of little things to street you in the right direction! Listen to podcasts and try and get yourself into a little morning routine has been a game changer for me

I use my insta to get inspired and learn. Changing platforms or apps won’t be helpful if you only see random things. Even Insta and FB can be motivational . But like everything else, you have to consciously decide to see more of the inspirational and motivational or learning that you want.

You have taken the first step of realising that you want a change.
