  Performance max campaigns and tv screens

  Has anyone had there performance max campaigns get a large amount of conversions from “tv screens”? We are tracking clicks on the website phone number and have started to get a large amount of conversions from tv screens and website phone clicks.

  Would a user see an ad on a tv >> click on it and the go to the website >> click on the website phone number?

  I’m just trying to understand why there would be a lot of phone clicks from tv screens and if there is an issue with conversion data.

  I would guess these are be click fraud. Google runs YouTube Ads on Smart TVs and set-top boxes like NVIDIA Shield etc. Since users can’t easily click to open a web browser on those devices Google does offer an “open on phone” link.

  But I doubt these are getting much traction… we don’t see activity for this in our many client accounts.
