    Hi,

I’ve noticed over the past two weeks that there’s been a significant drop in organic traffic with one of my clients and the reason for this is the drop in rankings for our branded key term. However the client shares the name with another business in the same industry where most of the search volume is related to.

Is there anyway I can combat this and try and revive our rankings?

You can try finding semantic and long-tail Keywords and rank for them. Also, I guess it will be easier to rank for them. Or try finding what are the keywords the competitor is not ranking for and try getting your website content up for those keywords. This should work.

First, how did you measure drop in traffic and ranking? If you use one of SEO tools, check Google Search Console and Bing tool. Compare YoY data.

Second, you should provide tech SEO audit. In many cases significant drop in traffic means tech issues.

If all things are right, you need to review a marketing strategy to change your SEO tactic.
