    Hey everyone,

I made a post yesterday and got some great support, thanks again.

I wanted to bring up another topic and would appreciate any advice you can throw my way. I have been losing organic keywords at a rapid pace. I noticed it occurred when Google had their two most recent updates. Regardless, it’s still very concerning and was wondering if any of you have experienced the same problem or know a solution on how to increase my words back again.

**My “Organic Keywords” (as labelled in Ahrefs) went from 113 to 38 since December 2022.**

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you all!

My advice would be to ignore Ahrefs and look at your real data in GSC and Analytics. Don’t worry what some 3rd party tool is saying that is trying to estimate data when you have access to the real numbers.

This is a rather generalized question, so it’s difficult to speculate what’s going on with your website. However, just because Ahrefs is saying your list of ranking keywords has diminished, doesn’t necessarily mean traffic is dropping. Your message above didn’t say if your Google referrals actually dropped.

I would argue that ranking for a smaller set of keywords simply means that Google Search has narrowed down your visitors “search intent” and that it now knows exactly which audience is best matched to your content. And if your Google referrals has dropped because of this, then good. It only means you’ve lost visitors who won’t spend much time on your website.

And I would agree with u/SEOPub, stick to using Google’s tools like GSC and Analytics, and stop giving third party tools so much credibility.
