How do you actually do this? I’ve been writing for a new niche lately, and I get a lot of bad queries in my keyword suggestions, e. g. “by new runing shos” or “how to traine for mara ton”. (not real examples, but you get the deal). Should I consider this when writing content? Usually I don’t, but apparently there’s more than usual in this niche. Do Google understand what the user’s intention is in this case?

Yes, most of the time Google autocorrect the wrong queries by saying “did you mean”.

So you should not focus on using incorrect queries or keywords in your content.

The number of incorrect queries searched is rather low than queries that are phrased correctly.

For Ex. Searches for “by new runing shos” will most of the time be less than “buy new running shoes”

Google doesn’t actually use the specific wording of the query to find results, but instead attempts to understand what the user is looking for, and answers that. It’s the reason that if you search ‘Cheap flights to france’ google will show you sites about ‘air tariffs’ as it knows that is what you mean.
It works in complex ays like this, as well as simple ways like spelling mistakes. I assume you know people are searching this through GSC. This indicates that google knows you are suitable for that search already.

Don’t intentionally add those wrong misspellings to your article, google will correct them automatically

    Did you mean: …

I’m sure you’ve seen one recently

Google takes into account a user’s search intent, don’t focus on single search queries. Sometimes you can rank for a keyword without optimizing for it, simply because you’ve covered the main topic well on a page.

No don’t do that. Google will penalize you with enough misspellings. On-top searchers will not take your content seriously if it’s got constant misspellings.

No, don’t do that. You should always look at the SERP. What are the results for “by new runing shos”? I’m seeing that they are exactly the same as buy new running shoes (except with “Showing results for buy new running shoes” at the top) So now your article is NOT optimized for the query, because the results are for the correct spelling. Plus, it just looks junky to the user.

Google is moving towards machine learning. Don’t worry about that. It’s all about intent.
