Backlinks are probably the most important if organic/e-commerce, else GMB if local. I haven’t heard anyone mention citations yet.
Create citations and social media accounts on the top local, niche, and web 2.0 sites.
Make sure they’re updated and accurate with the same/similar info.

And dont forget that big part of backlincks should go to your home page with mostly different forms of anchors related to your brand or different types of ulr like busysumo, busysumo.com , http://www.busysumo.com , https.busysumo.com., i read from one research that best ratio for home page and specific kayword page is 1:1 ,per one link on article page one link to home page and most of anchors that go to home page should contain brand name or different types of URL adress , and only some 10 percent of anchor text that go to home page can contain specific kayword .invest in your brand name with homepage linkbuilding
