    Hey guys,

I run a digital magazine-style website and we have products listed on some of our articles, namely, buying guides. Roughly 15% of people who visit the articles, click on the “buy” button to buy/explore the product on whichever site it is listed.

We have received some requests from advertisers lately who are wanting to advertise their product on our page and the requests have been mixed in nature. A couple of advertisers want to put up display ads on our page. The design of the ad is beautiful and it can integrate well with the elements of our page. Other advertisers, want us to list their product in our list of recommended products with a sponsored badge beside it, so as to not compromise our integrity.

My question is, since the CTR on our recommended products is 15%, can we gauge roughly how much lower the CTR will be for display ads and sponsored products? It is important for us to know this, so that we can deliver the number of clicks are advertisers want by listing them on multiple pages.

Appreciate any responses and guidance here, thank you.

It’s just going to be a guestimate until you test. It might not drop it might go to 0.

If you’re doing a review site technically you don’t need the sponsored badge as you should already have the affiliate disclosure info around any CTA / purchase link. But if you want to for clarity your call
