My sites rankings are a mess
Google is ranking my posts wrong, I had a great position for 2 keywords that I lost after writing a new blog that overtook those keywords. I’m not sure if it’s because my old blogs are linking to that blog with anchor text or what but it’s cannibalizing my other posts even though it doesn’t contain the same keywords.
Today for like 2 hours the number 1 rank i had for a keyword came back but it’s gone again. I am confused is there anything I can do?

There is nothing you can do until updates settle down The entire month of Feb has been non stop algo updates. One of the worst months my website had in three years. Irrelevant serp results and spamming YouTube links on top 8 results is Google’s way of killing my traffic.
Until volatility settles down, there is nothing you can really do.

Google has announced on Twitter that a major search update is in the process of implementation. Everyone sees their messed ranking. Even our website ranking is down. Google prefers to show listing sites with less content and no benefits over others.
On the other hand, about your post ranking, you can check if the new post you wrote supports the previous post or share the same topic. If one of two facts are matching then the ranking is probably messed up because google supports your new post over the old one.
double-check the keywords are not present in the new post or share intent. is the new post not having the backlinks on the same keywords?
It takes usually 2 weeks to complete the algo update. Till then, either you can wait or make the necessary check-in for another post too.
