About an year ago, I migrated one of sites from olddomain.com to newdomain.com (Domain names for example).

Reason why I migrated: Got hit by Google updates back to back. So, I restructured my site a bit and moved it to a new domain.

Everything was good until a few months. Then it started going down again.

Now, I am thinking of moving it back to the old domain. Why, you ask? One reason is that, people still search for the old domain name directly in Google. The name was unique and memorable and apparently a lot of folks remember it. The second reason is, I don’t see any improvements after moving newdomain.com. The third reason: the site is now making peanuts compared to what is used to make. It makes around 10% of what it used to make.

Has anyone ever done this before? Moving the site to new domain and then moving it back again to the old domain?

Never a great idea to undo permanent redirects. Your focus should be on better content, not switching domains.
