Microsoft Ads IS lost due to budget is high but ads are not spending the daily budget

Posted by seohelper on August 9, 2020 at 2:23 pm

I have a campaign going for a few weeks now. Before I was getting 80-90% IS. Lately, It keeps telling me that 75% IS is lost due to budget. I’ve raised the daily budget from 50/day to 150/day. I’ve also raised bids to $18 even though my average cpc is like $8. Quality scores are 8-10.
    Manual bid strategy. What gives?

I’ve also paused 2 out of the 4 ad groups while I figure this out. Do te paused groups count towards IS lost?

So impression share lost to budget is purely down to the budget of the campaign, are you capping out each day? Impression share lost to rank is where your bids are to low.

Seeing a similar thing, I think Microsoft’s algorithm is just bad at budget optimization and will often not bid on searches. Maybe try increasing the budget (not the bids) further?

Just a follow-up to anyone who may been interested. I ended up upping the budget to something ridiculously higher than I intend to spend ($500/day when I actually intend to spend around $30) and increased the bids to $50 (my average CPC has been $9.50) and that seems to have helped it a little bit. Im still not getting a lot of impressions, but it stopped the IS has gone up to mid 80s. I realize that Bing doesn’t have the volume that google does but I still think there is more volume out there today than I’m capturing. I reached out to support today and they said they are going to look into it within 5-7 business days.
