Microsoft Ads – How to pay per click and not CPM?

Posted by david8840 on May 10, 2024 at 11:07 am

We are new to Microsoft Ads. At first we setup a Performance Max campaign. To our surprise it does not allow setting any manual bids at all. So then we created a display ads campaign. But it seems to only allow bidding on CPM and not on clicks.

Is there any way to set it to bid up to $X per click?

MS ads are best for search. Is there a specific reason why you’re looking for audience/video ads?

As far as I know, video ads are limited with CPM but audience ads can have cpc bidding too.

Keep in mind that if you’re importing your campaign from Google ads, you will obviously see lots of changes and differences due to the fundamental difference between the inventories this also changes the bid strategies available for each campaign type.
