Listing sites vs Google?
Hi,
I was thinking about starting a listing page for a specific type of local business in my state.
However, a Google search automatically pop-ups a list with markers. Which kinda defeats the need for listing pages?Do you believe that listing sites can still be organically grown into something decent with decent visitor numbers?

The existence of equivalent service is not a problem as long as you provide a better service. Your focus should be to find how you could provide a better service.
When google started there were already many major search engines. They didn’t gave up because they had better quality result, and the rest is history.
But it won’t be an easy battle because google can manipulate ranking of it’s own product in its search result. You have to be really better.

– some professions get leads – not everyone clicks on the maps . You can always use PPC too -
Capterra does this and makes a lottttt of money
